Mary Elizabeth Kerstiens O'Connor, age 80 of Franklin, TN passed away July 21, 2016. Born in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee on March 9, 1936. Mary enjoyed life, family and friends. There is much comfort in the fact that Mary will be at the feet of Jesus. She carried him with her wherever she went.

Mary was a wonderful friend who gave out kindness and compassion freely as she went throughout her day. She was a loving soul who noticed people's needs and did her best to take care of such needs. She had a very pleasant demeanor even though her body became weak, she made sure she took care of her family. She was always a humble heart who never asked for anything in return. Mary delighted in raising her children and made sure they were involved and had everything they needed. She will be extremely missed every day.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Anna Kerstiens. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Lucian O'Connor; son, Michael T. O'Connor, Franklin; daughter, Cindy O'Connor Harris, Thompsons Station; granddaughters, Brittany (Harris) and Kevan Elkins, and Jennifer L. Harris, both in Knoxville, TN. She is also survived by brothers, Carl (Elaine) Kerstiens, N. Augusta, SC; Roy (Betty) Kerstiens, Houston, TX; sisters, Loice Augustine, Loretto, TN; and Bonnie (James) Patt, Lawrenceburg, TN.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Memorial service with meal following will be held at St. Philip Catholic Church, 113 Second Avenue South, Franklin, TN on July 30, 2016 at 3:00 PM. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Friday, August 12, 2016 at Neal Funeral Home. Graveside Service and inurnment will be conducted at Calvary Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN at 11:30 AM Friday, August 12, 2016, with Father Joseph Mundakal officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic School, Lawrenceburg, TN or Sacred Heart Catholic School, Loretto, TN.
