I moved to Lawrenceburg around 1988, my husband, Pete Scott, job brought us there. I fell into the insurance business about year later with a job at the VanVickle Agency. I was to become an insurance agent. I had no previous experience and really had a dislike for insurance in general stuck with it for 25 years. There was a lady there that was going to retire and was assisting with the transition of the sale of her husbands insurance agency to the VanVickles'. It became her duty and pleasure to teach me everything I was to later look back on and know was my education from my personal tutor, my mentor, my friend, my confidant. She was a very good teacher, kind, loving and methodical and generous. I still speak of her today in the training classes I conduct for Orientation for the on-boarding new staff. "Just call me Jean", no formalities. I loved her. I gave her the impatient flowers by her front door that came back every year and bloomed. She gave me heart and soul, lead by example to show kindness and love to all. She would sign messages she wrote to insureds, "Love Jean". She was love....... when the door bell rang that day in April, 1991, at the door with a pot of homemade soup and corn bread for me and the kids. She said you need this, gave me a quick hug and was gone. I don't think she could bear to see the pain. The death of my husband was sudden and he shock of my life. I look back now and I know it was the examples of her strength I had learned combined with my will, family and God that sustained me and my boys. Heaven is a more beautiful place with Jean Nicholson there. I know you know you were blessed with a good mother. Maybe you know you shared her with others. She_ was_ love. I send My sincerest condolences on the loss of your mother. May God bless you and enrich your life......Jean enriched mine. Respectfully, Dianne

Beverly and Brenda, I am so sorry for your loss. I loved your Mom very much and will certainly miss seeing her in the post from Summitt. We haven't kept in touch much the last couple of years, but she and I exchanged emails/jokes for several years. She was a very special lady and will be missed by so many. My prayers are with you and your families.

Beverly and Brenda, I'm so so sorry you have lost your mom. She was always one of the kindest and sweetest ladies I've ever known. I remember your mom and dad at Immanual Baptist, along with my parents, when organizing the church. Every post from the Summit, I always looked for your mom, I will miss her but I know for sure that she is in Heaven with your dad. Hugs to you both...

Please know that my prayers are with you all at this time. Jean was one of the most dear, kind and Christian ladies I have ever been blessed to know. Praise the Lord we know she with her Father in Heaven and just imagine the smile on Jean's face when she saw her Father in Heaven. She was so loved and left a legacy of love for all who knew her. My prayers are with all her family and friends.
