No words can ever express the pain and hurt of losing a loved one, but know that you do have my sympathy. Know that Friends, Family and God's word may comfort you and help you in the days, weeks and months to come. Feel free to call on them "There are companions ready to crush one another, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother."- Proverbs 18:24 It will be the little things that you will remember about the deceased, the smiles, the laughter the words of wisdom they imparted to you over their long life. And although it may seem difficult at this moment to reflect on the good times., it will be the memories of these little things that help to cope with this loss. Know too that God is aware of what you are experiencing and will correct the situation shortly. John 5:28 - 29 shows Jesus will call out to those in the memorial tombs and those in them will come out at that time you will be able to see your dead loved ones again.

I had no idea the other day when Hannah & I saw you from down the hallway at the hospital that your mother was there. I'm sorry for your family's loss. I'll be praying for you, Jimbo.

This was the best mother-in-law for which any man could wish. While she was still in charge of her facilities, she baked me a chocolate cake on all of my birthday celebrations and followed up with a beautiful "Lands End" flannel shirt. Choosing to live on the sunny side of life, she brought joy into our lives every single day. While she was in intensive care last week, her body stricken with illness, she still managed to smile and give me encouragement in about a twenty minute conversation. What a wonderful memory. I hope I can be half the person she was. :) No wonder we loved her so much!

What a wonderful lady! The countenance on her face always showed what was in her heart...love, joy, peace and happiness. Her children call her blessed, and it was a privilege to know her! Our sympathies to the Parkes family.

I had the privilege of spending a lot of time at the Parkes' home. Aunt Dot took my cousin Marian and I out of school to see LBJ and Lady Bird when they visited Columbia because she thought we should have the opportunity to see a President as she had had the opportunity to see FDR at one of his inaugurations. Aunt Dot once gave me a cooking lesson on how to make her Bran Bread. Over the years, she told me many stories of her and her siblings. I still have and use the big hardback Dictionary that she and Uncle Jim gave me 43 years ago when I went to college. She took care of many people during her life. May she rest in peace. Love
