William A. “Bill” Roberson, age 75, of East Peoria, IL, passed away Tuesday, Sep. 12, 2023, at OSF St Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.
Bill worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 31 years retiring in 1999. He was a member, and for several years, the chairman of the election committee of the Local 974. Following his retirement from Caterpillar, Bill owned and operated Roberson Trucking.
He was born Sep. 1, 1948, in Lawrenceburg, TN, to William and Evelyn (Hanson) Roberson. He married Jami Brooks on April 28, 1972, in Benson, IL. She survives along with one daughter, Rebecca (Joe) Anderson of Varna, IL; two sons: William “Lucious” Roberson of Norwood, IL, and Clifford (Cristy) Roberson of Cambridge, IL; and three grandchildren: Kami, Crew, and Chase.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 19, 2023, with Tim Cunningham officiating. Family suggests memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Peoria, IL Chapter.
