Sarah Magdalene Newton Williams

Sarah Magdalene Newton Williams, age 82, of Ethridge, TN passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021, at TriStar Northcrest Medical Center in Springfield, TN.  She was a native of Five Points, TN, retired from the Lawrence County Public Library, and a member of Second Creek Primitive Baptist Church. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jasper Nola and Alice Irene Eddy Newton; her husband, Carthol Larry Williams; four brothers, Taylor Newton, Willis Newton, Grady Newton, and Doyle Newton; four half-brothers, Robert Newton, Leonard Newton, Vivian Newton, and Gilbert Eddy; one step-brother, Emmon Beecham; three sisters, Jennellus "Jennie" Steadman, Nellie Tipper, and Laura Littrell; and one half-sister, Margaret Shadix.

She is survived by two daughters, Alicia Williams of Joelton, TN and Paige W. Owens of Greenbrier, TN; one sister, Charlotte Plunkett of Loretto, TN; several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.  Graveside services and interment will be conducted at Second Creek Cemetery at 1:00 PM Monday, November 29, 2021, with Tim Cunningham and Thomas Mattox officiating.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Second Harvest Food Bank, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or the American Red Cross.
