Rita Mae Adair, age 83, of Sumpter Township, MI, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2020 at home. She was born on October 10, 1937 in Harold, Kentucky, daughter of George Henry and Ada Ellen (Hunt) Griffith. She Previously attended Faithway Church, Ypsilanti, MI, and Tri-Lakes Baptist Church, Brighton, MI and was more recently a member of Willis Baptist Church, Willis, MI. She retired from General Motors Willow Run Hydramatic plant after more than 10 years of loyal service. She enjoyed being a caregiver for many years after her retirement. She loved crocheting, baking and reading.
Mrs. Adair is survived by four children: Linda St. Jacques of Wayne, MI, Fredrick Withrow, Jr., Debra (Dan) Combs, and Pamela (Mike) Lego, all of Belleville, MI; her beloved Shih-Tzu Deano, two step-sons Mike (Cheryl) Adair of Macomb, MI and David (Donna) Adair of Jacksonville, FL, 22 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great-grandchildren, two brothers James Dean (Betty) Griffith of Westland, MI and Ward Gene (Brenda) Griffith of Wisconsin, sister Georgia Gail Trout of Livonia, MI, brother/nephew Lawrence Thomas (Joan) Wood of Garden City, MI, also numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Thomas Adair Jr., two grandsons Scotty and Steven Moe, son-in-law Mike St. Jacques, a sister Louise Smith, also a brother Bob Griffith.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM Friday, October 30, 2020 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 3:00 PM Friday, October 30, 2020, with Charles Dan Combs officiating. Interment will follow at Center Point Methodist Cemetery in Lawrence County, TN.
