Oscar Andy Benefield

Oscar Andy Benefield, age 84, of Summertown, TN passed away Wednesday, November 06, 2019 at his residence.  He was a native of Lawrence County, TN, retired from General Electric, and a member of Mt. Horeb Baptist Church.  Mr. Benefield served his country in the Army National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, O. J. and Lorene Bates Benefield, two sisters, Betty Bryant and Nell Bryant; and one granddaughter, Piper Benefield.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah Gaynell Benefield of Summertown, TN; four children, Nickie Oscar Benefield of Shepherdsville, KY, Tammy Gay Slonaker (Randy) and Terry Andy Benefield (Shelia) both of Summertown, TN and Jason Benefield (Lori) of Rockvale, TN; four brothers, Mack Benefield and Jack Benefield, both of Summertown, TN, Ed Benefield of Hendersonville, TN and Ronnie Benefield of Rogersville, AL; three sisters, Kathleen Davenport and Jane Davenport, both of Summertown, TN and Annie Benefield of Cornville, AZ; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, November 08, 2019 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Saturday, November 09, 2019, with Greg Ivey officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Grove Cemetery in Lawrence County, TN.
