Norman Ray Thompson, age 59, of Ethridge, TN passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He was a native of Lawrence County, TN, formerly employed with Murray Ohio and Tri Star Transport in Nashville. He was also a member of Crossroads of Dixie Antique Tractor Club, several Bass Anglers Associations, and Mars Hill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Nell Gambrell Thompson; one brother, Billy Wade Thompson; and one sister, Patricia Darlene Thompson.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Threet Thompson of Ethridge, TN; one daughter, Lilli Thompson of Ethridge, TN; his father, Willie Ray Thompson of Collinwood, TN; one brother, Terry Wayne Thompson (Teresa) of Waynesboro, TN; two half-brothers, Justin Thompson (Candice) and Jeremy Thompson (Sarah), both of Collinwood, TN; several nieces and nephews. Those serving as pallbearers are Dale Askins, Kyle Duke, Jeremy Gallaher, Brian Porter, Don Schultz, Ryan Mattox, and Tony Morgan. The honorary pallbearers are Kyle Bailey, Mark Bailey, and Tony Cheatwood.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday, March 20, 2021, and from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM Sunday, March 21, 2021, at Mars Hill Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at Mars Hill Baptist Church at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 21, 2021, with Rex McMasters and Mickey Brackin officiating. Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN. The family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Mars Hill Baptist Church, Kid's Place/ A Child Advocacy Center or The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
