Nellie Lorene Mobbs Mattox Obituary

Nellie Lorene Mobbs Mattox, age 97, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Sunday, April 26, 2020 at NHC Healthcare of Scott in Lawrenceburg, TN. She was a native of Morgan County, AL, former owner of Noal and Lorene's Bait Shop, and a member of Ethridge First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Monroe and Bessie Hipp Mobbs; her husband, Noal Mattox; six brothers, Major Mobbs, Leon Mobbs, Lorenzo Mobbs, Glen Mobbs, Neal Mobbs, and Harry Beamon Mobbs; and three sisters, Naoma Woodcock, Frances Bimstein, and Baby Sister.

She is survived by two brothers, Henry V. Mobbs (Sarah) of Ethridge, TN and Wayne Mobbs of Murfreesboro, TN; one sister, Ruth McDonald (Roy Neal) of Lewisburg, TN; several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and in accordance with Governor Bill Lee’s Executive Order No. 17, a private graveside service was held at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN. Family suggests memorials be made to Ethridge First Baptist Church.
