Mrs. Shelby Jean Cox

Mrs. Shelby Jean Cox, age 85, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Saturday, December 02, 2023, at Meadowbrook Healthcare & Rehab in Pulaski, TN. She was a native of Lawrence County, TN, formerly employed at Salant & Salant, retired from South End Mfg, and a member of Fall River United Methodist Church. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Aubrey and Elsie Mae Bassham Howell; two sisters, Shirley Wilburn and Gail Nave; one brother, Glynn L. Howell; and son-in-law, Adam Walters.

She is survived by her husband, Archie E. Cox of Lawrenceburg, TN; one daughter, Melinda Cox Walters of Lawrenceburg, TN; granddaughter, Aubrie Walters of Lawrenceburg, TN; aunt, Alice Bassham of Lawrenceburg, TN; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, December 05, 2023, at Neal Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 06, 2023, with Ben Luna officiating.  Interment will follow at Fall River Cemetery in Lawrence County, TN.  The family suggests memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org/research.
