Mary Jean McCord

Mary Jean McCord, age 87, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Saturday, July 31, 2021, at her residence.  She was a native of Wayne County, TN, a homemaker, a farmer, and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.  She was also a hero, dedicated mother, grandmother, and was loved very much by the folks in her community. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kermit and Lillian Jeter Gower; her husband, Virgil McCord; and three brothers, Jimmy Gower, Rex Gower, and Ralph Gower.

She is survived by two daughters, Sherry Brown and Donna Garner (Robert); two sons, Randy McCord and Mike McCord (Bernita); one sister, Frances Long, all of Lawrenceburg, TN; ten grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.  The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at Neal Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at Macedonia Cemetery at 3:00 PM Wednesday, August 4, 2021, with Matt McCord officiating.
