Margaret Ellon Jennings McKennon

Margaret Jennings McKennon born in 1929, age 90, passed away peacefully in her sleep late Monday night.  She is preceded in death by her loving husband of over 55 years, Cecil W.McKennon; her older daughter, Lisa McKennon Thornton; her mother and father, Mary Pratt Jennings and DeWitt Jennings; her four sisters and one brother, Mabel Jennings Sudduth, Louise Jennings Toungett, Francis Jennings Owens, Lola Jennings Jones and JP Jennings.  

She began Oil painting in 1986, attended Ann English's Art classes for many years, and has several noted paintings through out Lewis county. She loved her family and enjoyed tutoring at Lewis County Elementary for over 30 years. She faithfully attended First Baptist Church and taught women's sunday school for 60 years.  

She is survived by her younger Daughter Tina McKennon McCoy; Grandchildren Hannah Leffingwell, Kristy McKennon, and David Allen; her Great-grandchildren Grant Isbell, Gracie Green, Andrew Penix and Nathan Allen. She was beloved by many and will be missed; although we know we will be reunited with her in Heaven.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday, October 25, 2019 at Neal Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 26, 2019 with Bert Spann officiating.  Interment will follow at Center Point Methodist Cemetery in Lawrence County, TN.
