Manuel Meadows "Red" Burks, Jr.

Manuel Meadows "Red" Burks Jr., age 88, of Goodlettsville, TN passed away Thursday, September 03, 2020 at Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, TN. He was a native of Cullman, AL, retired sheet metal worker, and of the Church of Christ Faith. Mr. Burks served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Meadows Burks, Sr. and Lillie Howard Burks; his wife, Willie Quillen Burks; one sister, Willodean Hightower; and two brothers, Edward Lee Burks and James Howard Burks.

He is survived by one sister, Nelda Porter (Dwight) of Goodlettsville, TN; several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Graveside services and inurnment will be conducted at Mimosa Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN will full military honors at 10:00 AM Friday, September 18, 2020, with Dwight Porter officiating.
