Lawrence Alton Sutton, Sr.

Lawrence Alton Sutton, Sr., age 76, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Monday, January 11, 2021, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN.  He was a native of Lawrence County, TN, retired General Chairman of CSX Union, and of the Christian Faith.  Mr. Sutton served his country in the U.S. Army. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Naomi Robbins Sutton; his first wife, Sydney Ann Carey Sutton; and one brother, Bill Sutton.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Sutton of Lawrenceburg, TN; one son, Lawrence Alton Sutton, Jr. (Victoria) of Lawrenceburg, TN; one daughter, Christine Sutton of Seattle, WA; two step-daughters, Holly Luke (Riley) of Ethridge, TN and Lindsey Staggs of Lawrenceburg, TN; three grandchildren, Lawrence Alton Sutton III (Lucero) of Bradenton, FL, Grace and Laura Sutton of Lawrenceburg, TN; three step-grandchildren, Gavin, Gunner & Gracelyn Luke; one brother, Woodrow Sutton of Savannah, TN; a host of aunts, uncles, one nephew, and one niece.  

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.  Graveside services and interment will be conducted at Macedonia Cemetery at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 14, 2021, with Brandon Taylor officiating.
