James Earl Keaton Obituary

James Earl Keaton, age 73, of Summertown, TN passed away Friday, July 31, 2020 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.  He was a native of Lawrence County, TN, retired from Sherwin Williams with 44 years of service, and a member of the Lawrenceburg Rotary Club where he was a seven level Paul Harris Fellow and served as Rotary Club Secretary for a number of years. He was a member of Pulaski Street Church of Christ. He was also a member of the TN Fair Association, VFW Post 1618, and a Master Gardener.  Mr. Keaton is a honorably discharged Vietnam Veteran.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arther Keaton.

He is survived by his wife, Lynn Keaton of Summertown, TN; two sons, Steve Keaton (Michelle) of Spring Hill, TN and Scott Keaton of Oak Ridge, TN; one step-son, Eric Cockrell (Candace) of Fairview, TN; his mother, Mary Cleo Clayton Keaton of Lawrenceburg, TN; four grandchildren, Lesley Allison (Garin) of Columbia, TN, Adam James Keaton (Jessie) of Spring Hill, TN, Kenzie Hodnett (Jacob) of Oak Ridge, TN, and Journey Keaton of Oak Ridge, TN; two step-grandsons, Evan Cockrell and Grant Cockrell, both of Fairview, TN; two great-grandchildren, Oliver Allison and Arthur Allison both of Columbia, TN; and two brothers, Joe Keaton (Connie) of Murfreesboro, TN and Jackie Keaton (Beth) of Lawrenceburg, TN. Pallbearers will be Jim Oliver, Tad Keaton, Ryan Keaton, Freddie Corbin, Clyde Porter, Billy Lemay, Jason Ray, and Stan Bevis. Those serving as honorary pallbearers will be members of the Lawrenceburg Rotary Club.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Monday, August 03, 2020 at Neal Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 3:00 PM Monday, August 03, 2020, with Jacob Evans and Ray Watkins officiating. Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN with full military honors.
