James David Longshore

James David Longshore, age 75, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital West in Nashville, TN.  He was a native of Giles County, TN, and a retired security guard from TVA.  Mr. Longshore served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era in the Big Red 1 Infantry Division where he received a Purple Heart.  James loved fishing, hunting, and he loved to eat.  He also enjoyed watching football and listening to music.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Mary Ellen Pratt Longshore; his wife, Glenda Faye Ratliff Longshore; and three sisters, Evelyn Sides, Wanda Nell Bivens, and Doris Elaine Myers.

He is survived by one daughter, Rhonda Hartsfield (Randy) of Lawrenceburg, TN; one son, Michael Longshore (Tonya) of Lawrenceburg, TN; one granddaughter, Kassie Moody (Cameron) of Lawrenceburg, TN; one grandson, Lane Longshore of Lawrenceburg, TN; one brother, Albert Longshore, Jr. of Pulaski, TN, one sister, Betty Wilburn of Pulaski, TN; several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, December 17, 2023, at Neal Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Monday, December 18, 2023, with family members officiating.  Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN.  The family suggests memorials be made to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
