Dorothy Ann Nash

Dorothy Ann Nash, age 82, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away on Saturday, December 09, 2023, at her home.  She was born on May 07, 1941, in Dunn, TN to Glynn and Georgia Story Perry.  Dorothy married Jesse L. Nash on July 19, 1958, in Lawrenceburg, TN and he preceded her in death on November 29, 2000.

She is survived by four daughters, Debra LaRive (Larry) of Bradley, IL, Patricia Bartsch (Greg) of Manteno, IL, Lisa Prince-Nash and Katherine Henson (William) of Arizona; son, Joseph Nash of Lawrenceburg, TN; 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Bob Perry (Susan) of Jackson, TN and Jerry W. Perry of Bradley, IL; sisters, Linda Schlenz of McRae, GA, Jo Reed of Bourbonnais, IL, and Janice K. Perry (Vicky Quakenbush) of Kankakee, IL; and sister-in-law, Joyce DiCapo of Lawrenceburg, TN. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joe and Norine Nash; her sister, Jane Harlan; brothers-in-law, Burt Harlan, Gene Schlenz, and Larry Reed; and two infant grandchildren.

“Dotsie Bill” as she was lovingly called, was a homemaker who loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, and loved her family very much.  She also loved cooking (including the best chicken and dumplings, peach cobbler, and cheesecake ever), gardening, watching the cardinals come to her bird feeders, watching HGTV and the TV shopping networks.

Dot and Jess spent many years in Illinois, where 3 of their 5 children were born.  They returned to Lawrenceburg, TN in 1989, where they were able to spend time with their parents in their golden years.

The family wishes to extend our heartfelt thank you to the nurses with Compassus Hospice for all their care and support.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Neal Funeral Home.
