Clara Crews Mabry Adair, 91 of Leoma, TN, was called home on April 28, 2023, at NHC Lawrenceburg.
She was born in Leoma, TN on the Rabbit Trail Road. She held multiple roles throughout her life from employment with Salant & Salant and other local factories, wife and mother, homemaker, helping her husband raise cattle back in the day, and her favorite, being a grandmother. She was a member of Calvary Hill Church of God. She enjoyed traveling, gospel singings, bluegrass music, caring for her pets, and following politics. She lived most of her life in Lawrence County, TN, but spent 20 enjoyable years in Huntsville, Alabama. She battled many health issues throughout life and always said with your faith in Jesus and a positive attitude, you can be an overcomer and she was. She enjoyed life!
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Crews and Viola Yeager Crews; one brother, Harold New; one sister, Mildred Crews Wood; one brother-in-law, Otto Hammond; and husbands, Billy G. Mabry and Robert Adair.
Survivors include daughter, Melanie Mabry Braswell (Norman) of Lawrenceburg; sister, Margaret Hammond of Leoma; two grandchildren, Grace Dillon (Rick) of Ohio and Faith Braswell of Lawrenceburg; one great-grandchild, Jack Dillon and a baby boy on the way; several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to NHC caregivers and Gentiva Hospice for the care they provided.
