Andrew Walker Rose, age 96, of Ethridge, TN passed away Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, TN. He was a native of Giles County, TN, retired farmer, and a member of Park Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Rose served his country honorably in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a Staff Sergeant during World War II. He served in an Air Offensive in Japan, Pacific Ryukyus, South Philippines, and Luzon. He was also an aerial engineer, mechanic and gunner on a B-24 with a crew of ten men.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Viola Garrett Rose; his wife, Elizabeth Irene Wilcoxson Rose; and one daughter, Sharon Rose.
He is survived by one daughter, Brenda Perry (Ronnie) of Ethridge, TN; one son, Duiane Rose (Mary) of Ethridge, TN; one sister, Corinne Nave of Pulaski, TN; four grandchildren, Teresa Staley (Homer), Lynn Patterson (Bill), Buddy Rose (Terri), and Jon Rose (Amelia); four step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, March 13, 2020 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 3:00 PM Saturday, March 14, 2020, with Ricky Cox and James D. Nave officiating. Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN with full military honors. Family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the charity of your choice.
