Amanda Alice Smith

Amanda Alice Smith, age 94, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at her residence.  She was a native of Lexington, MS, retired from Scott Memorial Hospital, and a member of St. John United Methodist Church. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Judge Keys; her mother, Annie Thurmond Keys Hicks; her husband, Theophilus K. Smith; her daughter, Annie Meeks; and son-in-law, Isadore Meeks.

She is survived by eight children, Charlie Cobbins, Jr. (Janice) of Grand Rapids, MI, Mary Davis Jefferson (Herbert Jr.) of Lawrenceburg, TN, David Earl Cobbins (Carol Jones) of Lawrenceburg, TN, Lavern Hayes (Cyrus) of Chicago, IL, Wilbur Cobbins of Lawrenceburg, TN, Leroy Cobbins of Lawrenceburg, TN, Priscilla Robinson (Charles) of Terry, MS, and Sabrina Cobbins of FL; 23 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Those serving as pallbearers are Gregory Cobbins, Datron Forest, Brandon Franklin, and Dupree Cobbins; and honorary pallbearers are Charlie Cobbins, David Cobbins, Wilbur Cobbins, and Leroy Cobbins.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at Neal Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at Mimosa Cemetery at 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 18, 2020, with James Scruggs officiating.
