Robert E. Parker of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Southern TN Regional Health System in Lawrenceburg, TN. He was born in Jackson, Tennessee on August 17, 1937 to Robert L. and Lallie M. Eubanks Parker. He was a 1955 graduate of Northside High School in Jackson, Tennessee. He served in the Tennessee Army National Guard and was retired from Suntrust Bank, Lawrenceburg. He was an active member of First Baptist Church, Lawrenceburg, Lawrenceburg Golf and Country Club, and also a member of various civic organizations. He enjoyed golf, golf outings with his son/friends and singing, especially in the Lawrence County Oratorical Society's Christmas Pops and with the Lawrenceburg Kiwanis Club's K-Notes.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Scott Parker; grandson, Garrison Parker; sisters, Margaret Travis, Joyce Burt, Linda Parker, Amy Jowers; and brother, David Parker.
Mr. Parker is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Sylvia Phillips Parker; daughter, Kelly Parker Rowland (Bill) of Clinton, Tennessee; daughter-in-law, Lisa Fails Parker and granddaughter, Grace Parker, both of Kerrville, TX; and granddog, Coco Rowland. Siblings surviving are Rebecca Thompson (Robert) of Humboldt, TN, Susan Willis of Trenton, TN, Sarah King of Medina, TN, Jerry Parker (Elaine) of Ripley, TN, Teresa Cole (John); and brother-in-law, Rodger Jowers of Jackson, TN. Several nieces and nephews who adored their "Uncle Buddy" also survive.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM Monday, December 16, 2019 at First Baptist Church, Lawrenceburg. A celebration of life for Mr. Parker will be conducted at First Baptist Church, Lawrenceburg at 2:00 PM Monday, December 16, 2019, with Jeff Vanlandingham officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Humboldt, TN.
