Mary Evelyn Taylor Norwood

Mary Evelyn Taylor Norwood, age 86, of Ethridge, TN passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018 at NHC Healthcare of Scott in Lawrenceburg, TN. She was a native of Lawrence County, TN, a homemaker, retired from Cherryhill Nursing Home in Toledo, OH, and a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Toledo, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents, I. Dee and Bertha Ethel Metheney Taylor; the love of her life and husband, Herbert Stanley Norwood.  He will be waiting at the gates of Heaven with Baby Jordyn, her great-grandson, to welcome her home.  She was also preceded in death by her brother, Lester; and her sister, Ruby.

She is survived by her sons, Jerry C. Norwood (Margie) and Ronald A. Norwood (Vickie), both of Tennessee.

She leaves behind her total caregiver, Patricia Darlene Bean; her other daughter, Sandra K. Christy (Jon) who lives in Ohio.

Darlene devoted her life to taking care of our mother and making sure all her needs were met on a daily basis.

Mary had eight grandchildren. Miranda and Jon II, both of Ohio; Tiffany, Melanie, Tikara, Stanley, all of Tennessee; and Kimberly and Jeremy, both of Florida.  Mary had eleven great-grandchildren, Hunter, Payton, Serenity, and Ariel, all of Ohio; Jaden, Cala and Helana, all of Tennessee; Elias of Florida; and Tristen, Jaedyn and Isaiah, all of Tennessee.

Mary is survived by three sisters, Willodean, Imogene, and Ruth, all of Tennessee.  She has many nieces and nephews.  She is also survived by sister-in-law, Margaret (Orlando) of Tennessee.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.  The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 16, 2018, with Dwight Davis officiating.  Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN.
