Martha Marie Bumpas

Ms. Martha Marie Bumpas, age 72, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Saturday, January 04, 2020 at Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN.  She was born September 29, 1947 to Ms. Hattie Bumpas and Mr. William Horace Wilkerson in Lawrenceburg, TN.  She received her education in Lawrence and Maury County Schools.

She accepted Christ and was baptized at the Original Church of God.  Martha was a very friendly sweet lady that spoke the truth no matter the situation.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ms. Hattie Bumpas; her father, Mr. William Horace Wilkerson; two sisters, Mrs. Roberta Lindsey and Ms. Betty Jo Bumpas; and two brothers, Mr. James Bumpas and Mr. William “Bunny” Wilkerson. 

She lives to cherish one son, Mr. Harold L. Smith of Lawrenceburg, TN; one grandson, Mr. Clay Stanford Smith of Lawrenceburg, TN; brothers, Mr. Charles Bumpas and John Willie Bumpas both of Spokane, WA; one uncle, Odell Bumpas of Kansas; two half-brothers, Samuel Wilkerson and Rodney Wilkerson (Sherry) both of Lawrenceburg, TN; two half-sisters, Mrs. Linda Cheers (James) of Murfreesboro, TN and Stella Rowlett (David) of Lawrenceburg, TN; several nieces and nephews; one special niece, Mrs. Sharon Gillespie; several cousins and friends; and one special devoted friend, Casey Bailey. 

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Neal Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 11, 2020, with David Morgan officiating.  Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN.
