Margaret Joan Cochran

Margaret Joan Coffey Hudgins Cochran, age 80, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away quietly at home on Monday, February 12, 2018.  She was born August 23, 1937, and a native of Lawrence County.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, Laura Lou White Coffey and F. L. Coffey.  Also, preceded in death by her two sons, Michael Chandler Hudgins and David Coffey Hudgins.  She was a widow of Paul Cochran.

She is survived by her two daughters, M'Lee Hudgins and Lisa Ann Givens (Woody).  Joan was loved by her grandchildren, Sam Mayfield (Lyndsy), Lauren Parkes, Neelley King (John) and Blair Hickman (Andrew).  She was a great-grandmother to Gavin and Chandler Mayfield; Caroline, Ann Russell, and Harrison King; Parkes Hickman; and Brooke and Logan Gibbs.

She was a member of Lawrenceburg First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Aldersgate Sunday School Class.  She attended Columbia First United Methodist Church in recent years.  She was a member of the Buffalo River Chapter DAR and various bridge groups.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Thursday, February 15, 2018, with Chip Hunter officiating.  A private family interment will follow at Mimosa Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN.  Family suggests memorials be made to the Wounded Warriors or the charity of your choice.
