Ima Dee Bishop Myres Meadows died October 14, 2019 at the age of 94 at her home. Ima grew up in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee and was the daughter of Flossie Wood and Lewis Lafayette Bishop. She was one of six children and was preceded in death by her sister Vista Bishop Houser, Ezra Bishop, Vera Mae Bishop Shaw, Venora Bishop Bassham and Letha Wood Bishop Cross. She was also preceded in death by her husband Everett Meadows, her first husband James Ellis Myres and grandson, William Camp.
She attended Lawrence County High School and moved from Lawrenceburg to Nashville, Tennessee in the 1950s. She was a homemaker for many years while raising three children: Selene Myres, James Lewis Myres and Marlene Myres Cole (Gary). She began working for Rudy’s Farms Country Sausage Company as an Accounts Receivable Specialist in the 1970s and retired from there in 1985. She was a member of Donelson Heights Methodist Church and a devoted neighbor in her community.
Ima enjoyed traveling with her husband, before his death, and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, Marzette Camp, William Camp, Christina Hixon (Micah), Jessica Cole Larwig (Nic), and Adam Cole, as well as her seven great-grandchildren Elizabeth, Anthony, Michael, Jasmine, Kailey, Matthew, and Emily.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Friday, October 18, 2019, with David Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Mimosa Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN.
