Gary Wayne Hayes

Gary Wayne Hayes, age 65, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Monday, July 08, 2019 at Southern TN Regional Health System in Lawrenceburg, TN.  He was a native of Lawrence County, TN, a 1972 graduate of Lawrence County High School, attended Martin Methodist College, University of Alabama, and MTSU where he graduated in 1978.  He was also owner of Robert Hayes & Son Hardware, and a member of First Baptist Church of Lawrenceburg. 

He was preceded in death by his father, James Monroe Hayes; and his brother, James Charles Hayes.

He is survived by his mother, Gertrue Doss Hayes of Lawrenceburg, TN; his fiancée, Donna Jones of Lawrenceburg, TN; sister-in-law, Barbara B. Hayes;  two nieces, Melissa Hayes Compton (Jake) and Laura Hayes; one great-niece, Stella James Compton, all of Nashville, TN; and dog, Zoey.  Those serving as pallbearers are Pat Shafer, Norman Johnson, Scotty Hensley, Ronald Butler, David Henson, and Ronnie Bevins.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Neal Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Thursday, July 11, 2019, with Jeff Vanlandingham officiating.  Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN.
