Clarence Andrew Remke Obituary

Clarence Andrew Remke, age 88, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away on November 29, 2019.  Clarence was born on April 23, 1931, in Lawrenceburg to the late Patrick Andrew Remke and Alma Kraus Remke.  He was preceded in death by brothers, Edward Remke and James “Bud” Remke; and sisters, Helen Evers and Roseanne Remke.  He is survived by sister, Nell Remke of Lawrenceburg, TN.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 ½ years, Anna Bell Stockard Remke.  They have four children, twin daughters, Ellen Fellman and Evelyn Douglas (Ed); and sons, David Remke (Teri) and Doug Remke (Sara) all of Nashville, TN area. There are seven grandchildren, Josh Remke (Leigh Ann), Ross Fellman, Alex Douglas, Nick Douglas, Andrew Remke, Jack Remke and Morgan Remke; and one great-grandchild, AnnaBelle Grace Remke.

He was a devout Catholic and lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church in Lawrenceburg, TN.  He attended daily Mass after his retirement. Clarence worked at Murray Ohio Manufacturing for 31 years.  He was a member of the Lawrenceburg Golf and Country Club, Knights of Columbus, and VFW Post 1618. He loved to golf, gardening, and taking care of his yard. Clarence and Anna Bell loved visiting and traveling with lifelong friends, Jimmy and Carol Rohling.  Mr. Remke served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the staff of NHC Brink and his personal sitters, especially Sonja, Gail, and Telma. You all hold a special place in our hearts.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday, December 03, 2019 at Neal Funeral Home with a rosary service to follow at 7:00 PM. Funeral mass will be conducted at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Lawrenceburg at 10:30 AM Wednesday, December 04, 2019, with Father Joseph Mundakal officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN with full military honors. Family suggests memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Sacred Heart Catholic School in Lawrenceburg, TN.
