Peggy Avenell Newton Lumpkins

Peggy Avenell Newton Lumpkins, age 90, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Southern TN Regional Health System in Lawrenceburg, TN.  She was a native of Phil Campbell, AL, retired from M-Fine, a member of Loretto Chapter #472 Order of the Eastern Star and Leoma Baptist Church. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Rubye Thompson Newton, her husband, Charles "Bud" Lumpkins; two brothers, Bud Newton and Pete Newton; and one sister, Elaine Johnson.

She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Beavers Gray (Al) of Lawrenceburg, TN; one grandson, Scott Charles Beavers (Kaysha) of Columbia, TN; two great-grandchildren, Natalie Beavers and Olivia Beavers, both of Columbia, TN; one sister, Jane Brown (Kenneth) of Lawrenceburg, TN; four brothers, Jim Newton (Sharon) of Perryville, AR, Glenn Newton (Maxine), Don Newton (Cathy) and Mike Newton (Jeanette), all of Loretto, TN; several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Graveside services and inurnment will be conducted at Leoma Cemetery at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 19, 2020, with Mahlon Fisher and David Simmerman officiating.  Family suggests memorials be made to Leoma Baptist Church or Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.
