Mabel Jean Roberson Miller

December 31, 1933 ~ December 9, 2017 (age 83) 83 Years Old

Mabel Jean Roberson Miller passed away Saturday, December 09, 2017 at Southern TN Regional Health System in Lawrenceburg, TN following an extended illness.  Mrs. Miller was born December 31, 1933 in Phoenix, AZ and moved with her family to Lawrenceburg, TN in 1934.  After graduation, she worked for Southern Bell Telephone Company and was office manager for Miller Drilling Company until she retired to raise her two sons.  She served as the Treasurer for a time for New Prospect United Methodist Church.  She was a volunteer substitute teacher and librarian for the New Prospect School.  She was also a volunteer treasurer for the start-up of the New Prospect Fire Department.  After her sons were older, she was a secretary for a Social Studies Program for the Lawrence County Education Department, secretary for Hooper Realty and Auction, employed by Lawrenceburg Federal and Loan in Lawrenceburg and Loretto offices, sales clerk for Santini's Retail Store in Leoma and Real Estate Agent for Massey's Realtors where she retired to enjoy traveling and spending time with her family and friends.  She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Ethel Smith Roberson; her husband, Hoyt C. Miller; two sisters, Bea Thigpen and Selene Crews; one brother, Dale Roberson; and daughter-in-law, Carol Miller.

Mrs. Miller is survived by two sons, Greg (Barbie) Miller of Lawrenceburg, TN and Ben (Sheila Smith) Miller of Dry Ridge, KY; six grandchildren, Peter (Dyllan) Miller of Memphis, TN, Rob Miller and Collin Miller of Lawrenceburg, TN, Cally Miller and Brayden Miller of Dry Ridge, KY and Jacob (Jazzmin) Simpson of Meridian, ID; two great-granddaughters, Alyson Simpson of Meridian, ID and Rori Miller of Memphis, TN.  Mrs. Miller is also survived by many great-nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.   Celebration of Life Service and inurnment will be conducted at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 16, 2017, with Mark Miller officiating.  Immediately following the service, family and friends will gather at the First United Methodist Church Life Center.  Family suggests memorials be made to Lawrence County Public Library, 519 E. Gaines Street, Lawrenceburg, TN  38464, First United Methodist Church, 212 Waterloo Street, Lawrenceburg, TN  38464 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN  38105.
