Leon Hendrix, age 87, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013 at NHC Healthcare of Lawrenceburg in Lawrenceburg, TN.  He was a native of Lawrence County, TN, retired truck driver from Murray Ohio, and a member of the VFW and Flatwoods Freewill Baptist Church.  Mr. Hendrix served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II where he received a victory medal and an army of occupation medal in Japan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie M. and Hattie Ann Stout Hendrix; his wife, Syble Rochell Hendrix; one son, Jimmy Hendrix; two brothers, Hillard and Ike Hendrix; and one grand-daughter, Tracy Hendrix Berryhill.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 24, 2013, with Ricky Cox officiating.  Interment will follow at Mimosa Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN with full military honors.
