Jean Nicholson, age 89, a life long resident of Lawrence county, passed away on Monday, January 15, after a short illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nolan and Lola Grisham, her five siblings, and her husband of 65 years, Horace Nicholson. She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Shivas (Andy) and their daughters, Jessica and Hannah, and Brenda Cavicchio (Dan) and her sons, John Patrick, Keegan, Danny, and Ben.

She was a mother and homemaker for most of her life. She also became a licensed insurance agent and worked with her husband at Nicholson Insurance Agency after her children were grown. She was an avid reader and member of Friends of the Lawrenceburg Public Library District. She and her husband were founding members of Immanuel Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and Bible School for many years, and was instrumental in maintaining the church kitchen. She was a natural care taker of others, even unto the end of her life. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.   

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.  The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM Friday, January 19, 2018 at Neal Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Friday, January 19, 2018, with Michael Duff officiating.  Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN.
