Charles "Buddy" Clayton, age 92, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017 in Columbia, TN.   He was a native of Lawrence County, TN, retired from Crockett Hospital and the Lawrence County Board of Education and a member of Grace Church of the Nazarene.  Mr. Clayton served his country honorably during World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Era, originally enlisting into the U.S. Navy, December 12, 1941, retiring from the U.S. Air Force in 1974.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John A. And Lillie Clifton Clayton; his wife, Anna Spurgeon Clayton; one son, Charles F. Johnson; three sisters, Docia Smith, Christine Papoutsiv, and Irene McMurray; and one step-sister, Christine Spurgeon.

He is survived by

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, May 03, 2017 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 04, 2017, with Joel Daniel officiating. Interment will follow at Fullers Chapel Cemetery in Leoma, TN with full military honors.  Family suggests memorials be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
