Betty Joyce Sowell, age 73, of Petersburg, TN passed away Friday, July 21, 2017 at Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN. She was a native of Davidson County, TN, former owner of Sun Drop, and a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Pauline Dillehay Douglas; and her husband, Charles Robert Sowell.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, July 24, 2017 at Neal Funeral Home.  Graveside services and interment will be conducted at Talley Cemetery in Petersburg, TN at 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 25, 2017, with Darrell Lingerfelt officiating.
