Agnes Cecilia Connelly Wynn, age 97,  was born August 25, 1918 in Selma, Alabama; and passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016 at NHC Healthcare, Scott in Lawrenceburg, TN.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Luther Price Wynn.  Agnes was the fourth and youngest child of Francis Jefferson Connelly and Rose Mary Sermersheim Connelly who have both preceded her in death.  Her three siblings, all deceased, were Joseph D. Connelly, Helen Mary (Lena May) Connelly Gleason, and Rosella Connelly all of Knoxville, TN.

Agnes had two nieces and one nephew. Nieces are Mary Carolyn Gleason Reagan, wife of Peter Reagan of Eads, TN and their children Michael Reagan, Frank Reagan, Nannette Reagan Kelley, Celeste Reagan, Peter Reagan, Erin Reagan Barentine, and Maureen Reagan Jobe.  Her second niece is Rose Mary Johnson, wife of the late George Johnson of Lawrenceburg and their son Tyler Johnson.  Agnes’ nephew is J. Alvin Connelly, wife Mary Nelle Connelly of Marietta, GA and their sons Tim Connelly, Jeff Connelly, Steve Connelly, and Brian Connelly.  Agnes had 32 great grand nephews and nieces; and 3 great-great grand nieces and nephews.

Agnes lived her early life in Knoxville, TN and began working there for TVA as a clerk in 1942. She retired from TVA after 38 years during which time she had many varied responsibilities with assignments in Watauga, NC, Johnsonville, SC, Kingston, TN, and Wilson and Wheeler Dams in Alabama.  Agnes and Luther Wynn moved to Lawrenceburg, TN in 1983 and resided on Ninth Street for many years.  She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and she attended many functions with Luther at his church, Meadow View Baptist Church.  She moved to The Summit of Lawrenceburg three and a half years ago where she enjoyed socializing with the staff and the fellow residents.

Agnes is best known for her quick wit, telling jokes, and her near endless memory for facts, dates, and details.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday, June 02, 2016 at Neal Funeral Home with a Rosary service at 7:00 PM.  Graveside services and interment will be conducted at Calvary Cemetery at 10:30 AM Friday, June 03, 2016, with Father Joseph Mundakal officiating.  Family suggests memorials be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Lawrenceburg.
